Stand On God’s Promises Seek For Your Purpose By Faith by Dr. Eulyn Damon is a religion-inspired memoir.

In this book, the author tries to encourage and inspire the reader to seek motivation and strength from their faith. Dr. Damon is writing about her hard life in Guyana, South America, and moving to the States, where she worked as a social worker. Now retired, she is hoping to shine a light with this book on education, family values, and religion. Throughout the book, she is using multiple Bible verses to emphasize important life lessons but also encourages the reader to do better. Drawing from her personal experiences and the Bible, she makes this book a very uplifting read.

Even though the author went through many trials and tribulations, this book has a positive tone to it. Her faith and love of God are transparent. That is my favorite part of this book. But I feel like she could examine deeper into it or just not mention the same thing over and over again.

Sadly, I can’t say that this book was edited well. Moreover, I think this book wasn’t edited at all. There were so many grammatical errors. I just stopped counting them after twenty. Besides them, the format needs improving too. For example, there is the name of the chapter at the end of the page, and the passage begins on the next page. The author also writes parts of the book in the bold font, which takes away from the effortless reading experience. There are many nouns written with capital letters throughout the book, for example, artist, bookkeeper, hairstylist, and minister, to name a few. I don’t know why that was the author's choice, but it didn’t help the story. This book needs another round of proofreading.

I would recommend this book to anyone interested in religious and life-inspired stories. It is suitable for readers of all ages. Bible was an obvious inspiration to the author. Throughout the book, the author quotes the scriptures. For that reason, it is meant to be read and enjoyed by Christians.

This is a short and quick read, but not so easy to read because of all the issues with the writing and lack of editing. For that and previously mentioned reason, I have to rate it with two out of four stars. I can’t rate it lower because I understand the message that the author tried to convey. Improving these mistakes could make this a great motivational book.

Maybe this Is the author's first book -- that's why the errors we're so many. Although it sounds inspiring enough, I probably won't be interested anyway. Great review, AntonelaMaria.

It's irritating when a book as short as this is riddled with so many errors! However, I'll stay put over reading it until it is duly edited.

This sounds like an amazing christian book. However, the cover of the book is not interesting enough to draw one to the content. All the same, your amazing review prompted me to check it out. Thanks.

I agree with you. Sadly, there are guidelines that prevent us from rating high with so many errors. Thank you so much for reading!!
