Fred G. Baker really introduced the fictional adventure of a wonderland on plant. The mystery of Zona is narrated in a wonderful detailing one feels fascinating about.

How much information does Captain Oleg Godunov know, can he be trusted? A deal went sour or is he spying?

A thriller set in a Russian background sounds fascinating. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for that awesome review! It actually makes me want to read the complete book.

I have only read a sample so far, but immediately liked the fact that it started out in Saint Petersburg, Russia. A place that I visited in the mid-80's, when it was still called Leningrad. I always used to tell people it was like stepping back in time, and from the descriptions provided in the book, I see that it is still somewhat that way.

I remember stepping off a bus once while there, and immediately starting to go numb due to the cold. Even though it was midday, it was almost pitch black out. From what the book depicts, the weather is still rather gloomy.

This is a book that I would really enjoy reading!

I read this book when it was the book of the month and enjoyed it a lot. Zona is such an intriguing place and the events that take place are action packed. This book made me wonder if there are places like Zona yet to be discovered. I’m also wondering if there will be a sequel. Great job on your review!

I thought this was a spectacular review.. Very descriptive and included important information that benefits readers to know. I like that the reviewer explained the good as well as the parts of the book that they personally did not care for. The review made me want to read the book, the mystery and adventure along with great writing sounds like a fun read to me. Thanks for the review!

I have read this book and agree with your comments about the alcohol and sex. They were a hindrance to the teamwork needed for the expedition. Thank you for your review.

I like the idea of a scientific expedition into treacherous, unknown lands. I can only imagine how terrifying the animal attacks are, and not to mention the unforgiving weather. Thank you for the helpful review and recommendation!

This sounds like an expedition into many dangerous yet adventurous places. The review was really good but I don't think this one is for me.

I love the element of unexpected mystery in the book. I don't like the sexual content and drinking aspects but nonetheless this book sounds adventurous. The review is beautifully written.

I agree that there was quite a bit of adventure in the book, making for an interesting read. However, overall, with the sci-fi feel at times, and all of the sexuality and drinking, I wasn't thrilled with it. Thanks for the review.

Sounds like a well written adventure, but I may pass on it due to the sex/alcohol. Thanks for the review.
