The Dark Web Murders follows the story of Chief Inspector Jim Sheehan, his partner Denise Stewart and their task force as they solve yet another complex murder. When elite, high-powered members of society keep turning up dead under very peculiar circumstances, Sheehan and his team are desperate to find the person responsible. Unbeknownst to them, their killer has made themself known through a blog they post on the Dark Web, detailing their brutal killing of each victim. Sheehan and his team are in a race against time to find the perpetrator as the body count increases.

As the fourth book in the Inspector Sheehan Mystery series, this was the first I have read. That said, coming in on book four didn't lessen my enjoyment in the slightest. The handy list of character descriptions at the beginning of the book was very useful in getting up to speed, as there are many, many people in this story to keep track of. That could get confusing, unless someone was familiar with the series already, or took the time to read the helpful character descriptions O'Hare provides.

This is an absolutely fantastic crime novel that any reader of crime would enjoy. I devoured it in just a few days, and at the climax parts I even had goosebumps. I happily give this novel 4 out of 4 stars. It was professionally edited to a very high standard, and had an incredible storytelling flow that kept me engaged with every flip of the page. I would read about these characters again in a heartbeat.

My favourite part of this novel was the incredibly well executed mix of politics, social influence, drama, technology and murder all wrapped up into one. These elements at play together kept the storyline intriguing and active. It had a great flow, leaving very few (if any) slow parts in the book. It was fascinating to see all of the little clues, that were seemingly insignificant details, add up at the end to paint the full picture.

I would recommend The Dark Web Murders to anyone who loves reading mystery or crime novels, and especially anyone who enjoys collecting clues along the way. It is definitely a read I would only recommend to an adult audience, as there is disturbing and graphic content described throughout the story. I am a true crime junkie, and there were parts that even made me squeamish.

Yes, the mix up of different elements made it quite the page-turner. I've never been into crime mysteries but that one was really good. Thanks for the review.
