I love music and wish that I had continued playing instruments beyond high school. There is certainly a style of music for every emotion and it can help you work through any troubling time. The first few pages of this book definitely grabs your attention! I was sad to see the sample end. Great review!

Wow this seems to be a nice story. I feel sorry for the Joey, it is not easy to live in a home that feels like hell for you. It's a motivation to still see him pursue his dream. I am a fan of music, I should read this book.

I can already feel the strong emotions in this book, the love aspirations etc. It must have been really tough for Joey, the obstacles are really challenging. Thanks for the insightful review.

When a hobby, which is like an escape from reality, turns into passion becomes a life saver and eventually a life changer. I believe the book will give an insight into a creatives life, it’s struggles, and eventually the success and lessons that come out of it. Thanks for such a detailed, and insightful review. :)

I love the fact that the author seems to have written a realistic story with characters that also seem real. It's something very difficult to depict family issues like that. Besides, Joey's story sounds inspiring, even though he passes through a lot of difficult situations, he has the dream of becoming a musician, and this is beautiful. Thanks for the wonderful review! Great work!

Very well-written review. After reading just the sample myself, I couldn’t agree with you more. It is captivating and intriguing and incredibly realistic.

With every emotional turn, I found myself standing within the plot, able to relate closely to Joey’s plight; my own dysfunctional family situation has often led to taking refuge in music.

Thank you for your honest review. I can’t wait to finish the book.

I was so upset when the Amazon sample text ended abruptly. I have to finish this book. Joey overcame a lot in his life - poverty as a young boy and an abusive drunken father. I loved reading about the music teachers who made such a difference in his life. I had the same experience with the violin. This is an excellent story with great character development.

I love musical books. I profoundly believe that music can save lives and reading about the experience of others through this is always very encouraging for me. Keep making art, even if it is not perfect. Thanks for your review.

I haven't read any book that features a musician in such a long time. Because you said that this is one of the best books you read recently, I'm thinking about picking it up.
