Not sure what absurdist fiction is. I find the cover creepy & not sure how it incorporates into John's story. Thanks for the review.

An amazing absurdist fiction novel "On the Steps of St. Dymphna" by Tony Rocco, which focuses on John, a ordinary guy working at technical support team at GMC Megatronics and having a good girlfriend. Suddenly sleeping on magic bed changes his life altogether. The story appears quite interesting to read.

Got this book by chance and read it right away because at that point in my life I was drawn with promise of absurdist fictional world. Totally no regrets with decision, worth every ounce of time and effort I spend reading the book. Enjoyed it a great deal so thank you and congrats!

Absurdist fiction sounds like an interesting genre. I enjoy books with amusing characters and I’m curious to know exactly how this “magic bed” changed John’s life. Great review.

Did John really have an authentic spiritual experience on the “magic bed” or did he just go mad? This is an interesting question that has piqued my interest to find out. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Great review. I usually do not read much fiction but based on your review, I may give this book a try. I wonder if John experience was real or a break in sanity. He character seems fun and interesting.

I have never heard of the genre referred to as absurdist fiction, however, I can recall some books that may well fall into this category. This book, with its tale of John and the magic bed, certainly seems to earn the reputation for falling in this category. It sounds like satire reflecting about some serious and interesting issues. In a mischievously manner it also sounds like some Christian evangelists who have undergone a transformation and are now set out on a mission to convert others to their way of thinking as well as to earn a lot of money as well, in the process! I will be most interested to of John's experience in this book. Your review was interesting and thoughtful about an unusual book.

Nice review. The premise of John suddenly turning over a new leaf and living a new life was not quite believable. There was no 'conversion' experience. There was no clear belief system. I didn't believe that he had experienced a transformational change in his life. He seems like a very misguided person shooting off on a tangent. It is an interesting idea for a book.

I too appreciate unusual books, but this one just isn't calling me, though I'll add that I think "Pastor" John went mad rather than had a real experience of some sort. Thanks for the intro, just the same.

John "Main Character" who got enlightened because of some event and who wants to bring others towards enlighten. Indeed a great character to read. Further I would like to see whether he has done something in life or thrown away.

This book sounds very interesting. A magic bed, becoming a servant of God, and a life filling others with joy and proudness, this book sounds good to me.

An enlightening experience or sheer madness? How does John change from an ordinary guy into Pastor John? I like the fact that the book is both amusing and thought-provoking. Thanks for an interesting review!

An enlightening experience or a man gone crazy? Sounds like John's life has taken a complete change of direction. I am interested in finding more about his change. I also find it so endearing that by wearing transgender clothing, he is able to express himself in ways many people are not comfortable doing. Kudos to him! I am interested to see where this story goes. Thanks for the informative review.

Just a few days ago I saw a video on Facebook. A lady was in front of a congregation at a church. She took of her underpants and let the pastor shave her private parts. I thought to myself, has the world gone mad or miracles just changed the way they reach an individual? Nice book this one.
