I have never heard of absurdist fiction before. However, it does seem a very imaginative and intriguing plot. I wonder what made him change his life so dramatically. Must be an entertaining read

I think John went crazy, a magic bed? Well I guess I would just have to read the book to find out. Thanks for the insightful review.

Absurdist fiction! Rightly classified.
Magic bed, enlightenment, pastor, followers... Clearly, he was trying to give meaning to his life. Was it even the bed or his mind?

I have not read many books in the absurdist fiction genre, but this one sounds like something that I would be interested in reading. I like that the plot line seems fairly straight forward, but then it takes a turn. I also like that you are constantly wondering if Pastor John is truly experiencing enlightenment or simply losing his mind.

This book is really "thought -provoking". I would really like to know what " bed magic" means, and have a taste of "absurdity fiction".

John and his following set their sights on St. Dymphna' House of Hope, a local sanitarium ran by the authoritarian Big Mama, where they attempt to help the needy and comfort the afflicted. They face numerous obsticles that threaten to derail their mission, but with the help to a local religious radio station and a large group of feisty supporters, they persevere and ultimately triumph for a while.
