This sounds very intriguing and like a very interesting story. I don't know if I should start from here or from the beginning of the series. You mentioned it is a good standalone, however, maybe I could start here and see if it captivates me as for reading this as a whole. Thanks for your review, it was very enticing.

I like this cover and the novel seems to be captivating, with no dull moments. I will see for myself, but it looks great right now.

What happened to Dylan? Who are these men, and why are they pursuing them with a gun? Why are there diamonds in the water? These questions are so tricky as I am fond of Dylans character. Nice review :tiphat:

An action-packed crime thriller with a dash of humor appears fascinating. It's great to know that the book is standalone. Thanks for your interesting review.

"Diamonds of Devil's Tail" by A.W. Baldwin - I imagined the thief breaking in to a second-story window and recording all the hand holds, and making notes so he could write about it in detail. Like telling someone how to drink a cup of tea as if it were the computer. Good review - Thanks.

Diamond of Devil's Tail~ tells a Thrilling Story of different intermixed of twist and turns of Relic and the ancient pueblo built into a cliff in Canyonlands, National Park, when he observed a man coming towards him, carrying a ladder. The story further unfolds of being spooked, and a thief left to attempt to find other ancient dwellings in Devil's Tail Canyon to rob, and how he got there first to thwart his plans.

The hearing of noises by Relic, had caused him to stay out of sight, trying to ascertain what was going on out there. Other guys around him took off running in different directions, and the two men split up to give chase.

I have only read a sample so far, but this is a book that I really feel that I could enjoy. The description that the author provided of the man straining to climb to the third floor window, then his wild sprint away from the guard, actually kind of had me tense. Then there was the very detailed escape by aircraft, including an accurate check for debris before take-off. The author definitely did his homework.

I also enjoyed the next scene where a man with a ladder attempts to climb up to a cave, only to find someone waiting there. The person in the cave did something kind of nasty, but you will have to read the book to find out.

This book sounds like it could be an entertaining read. I like that the setting is out west, and I tend to enjoy a lot of action and solving mysteries. This story might be right up my alley. I was wondering, in what year does the story takes place? I assume it's current, rather than something in the past? Thank you for the description of the book and recommendation. I'll have to be on the lookout for this series.

This sounds like an exciting crime thriller with lots of action. I am specifically interested in reading about the Canyonlands National Park. Relic is already my favorite character! Great review!

I love twists and turns, and I love that the book doesn't end with a cliffhanger. I'm tempted to start at the beginning of the series instead of jumping straight into #4.
