Sometimes being a single mom is a blessing. Raising children in a happy atmosphere is the best choice some of these women made. Books like this one are an inspiration to help these women when they are lonely or having self-doubts. Thank you for your review.

Reading a sample of this book made me consider what my ex-wife must have had to gone through. I was gone overseas most of the time and she did an excellent job of raising our son on her own. I currently work with many single mothers, and have noticed that it has seemingly become a trend in our society. I do my best to help them out around the holidays if I am able. They always appreciate any help given.

This book would make an awesome Christmas gift for any single mother!

This is an interesting and informative book on single motherhood, societal branding, diversity, and determination. I really loved the stories in it. The book is temporarily discounted on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review. Congrats on the BOTD selection.

I know several single moms, each with their own stories. I also know several single dads, with their own stories. It must be encouraging to be able to read stories and testimonies of different people in a similar situation. And yes, I can imagine it is very emotional as well. Thanks for a wonderful review.

"We Got This: Solo Mom Stories of Grit, Heart, and Humor" by Marika Lindholm, Cheryl Dumesnil, Domenica Ruta, and Katherine Shonk - Stories from mothers bringing up children alone. Very tough, very emotional, but the child provides a strong motivation to be strong and protective and perhaps find a stronger self while fighting the good fight. Very complete review. Thanks.

Its unfortunate how the society still has a taboo for single women. This book is an eye opener for that kind of people. Congrats to the author on BOTD!

Sounds like a great book especially because it's the single mums who are speaking about themselves. Thanks for the review

As a man, I know how difficult it is to cater to the need of our children. It is on this premise that I send a big shout out to solo moms the world over, who are living to their bidding. Solo moms either by choice, accident, and incident are truly dear to my heart. They deserve all the respect in the world. Great book. Congratulations BOTD.

Oh, I would definitely be reading this since my mom is a solo mom; I'd buy her the book so she's reminded that she's not alone and can draw strength from the experiences of other women. She is the epitome of strength and resilience, so I totally understand how it felt to read up about women in this category. It's great that not all dads are painted badly. Still, I wonder if there are those who were present, yet absent. Thanks for the awesome review!

Wow! Single mothers are not so common around me and I think that's because most people think that "they would rather suffer in their marriage for their children than letting go of it." But I think the hardest part is saying you can no longer stand in a place where you're no longer at peace. Thanks for the eye-opener now I can't wait to read this book.

I also think that moms in general can learn from reading these stories - there are aspects that pertain to any mother in almost any situation. Everything is the U.S. is very rushed - that works better fort some than it does for others. Because single moms are busier, more stigmatized against, etc. than other moms, they have the means to function and thrive and succeed in this country, and perhaps in some other countries as well. That doesn't always make it right, and sometimes, I imagine, it's too bad that this lifestyle seems forced, but it is as it is. Certain aspects of their lifestyle is, at least in the U.S., very relevant. This book seems like a good resource as well as a means to relate - you're review really touches upon some of those key points.

Great review! I’m not separated or divorced but this book still intrigues me. I love how the chapters are set up as individual experiences. I have some wonderful solo moms in my life that would enjoy and benefit from this heart felt read.
