In 13.0.0.0.0 (Journey To The Center of Time), a woman was on the run from an unknown creature when she fell over and gave birth to a baby. She died after delivering the child. Almost immediately, the baby became a teenager and the woman's lifeless body seemed to have exploded as the teenager was suddenly splattered with blood. Many years later, the hybrid child is now a grown man named Eric Holmes. After spending most of his life in the Paranormal Clinical Institute, Eric eventually escaped the clinic when some aliens made everyone in the town pass out. However, he was subsequently abducted by a UFO.

Meanwhile, Noxtrademon, an alien scientist who became a fire-spitting anti-matter being during an unfortunate experiment seeks to take the Earth in conquest. Along the line, Eric meets Enrique Vega who tells him that his destiny is to stop Noxtrademon and his time-ghosts. However, the notorious time-ghosts attacked Eric on a night when he was vulnerable and unprepared. Did Noxtrademon get his wish? Did Eric prevail? What role did the aliens play? 13.0.0.0.0 (Journey To The Center Of Time) by Ernest Porter is a science fiction novel with a unique dimension and direction. The plot was relatively unique, and I have to commend the author for his skilful combination of science fiction and fantasy. The biggest thing I liked about this book was the way the protagonist fought his opponents. Eric simply turned the combat venue into a virtual game world, which helped him to eliminate his assailants when an effective weapon was not available. The narrative about the Mayans and their love for astronomy made this story much more believable. Also, the idea of aliens interbreeding with humans stoked my curiosity to a great extent, although I thought that it was extremely far-fetched. I was impressed with the author's effective use of plot twists as well.

However, there were so many things I disliked about this book. Despite reading the book from the beginning to the end, I still do not know whether this book is a novel or a movie script. Also, there were too many repetitions of stage settings and animations. I have to say, those repetitions bored me out of my skin. Additionally, the author did not adhere to the “show, don't tell” rule. For example, the book contained statements like, “we see human, non-animated versions, of Alalo and Aliya atop a hill overlooking Earth 2 Colony.” There were some loose ends too. The author did not tell us what really happened to characters like Dee Wong and Doreen Crump. Indeed, they seemed to be disconnected from the main plot. Furthermore, the book contained a lot of unnecessary capitalization, which might have been used to indicate the stress placed on the capitalized words. Nevertheless, I consider those indicators useless as this book is supposed to be a novel and not a movie script. Finally, discovering the identities of the hero and the villain after reading only forty-five pages of this book was a bit off-putting for me.

Therefore, I rate this book 2 out of 4 stars because it didn't live up to my expectations. The plot was very sound, but there were too many irregularities. Those irregularities prevented me from enjoying this book. Surprisingly, this book seems to have been professionally edited as I didn't find up to ten legitimate errors in it. Otherwise, I would have given the book a lower rating.

I recommend 13.0.0.0.0 (Journey To The Center Of Time) to fans of science fiction and fantasy books. This book will not be suitable for children because it contains some elements of eroticism and profanity. Nonetheless, people who are into astrology will probably find this book interesting.

An anti-matter creature leaves me puzzled because it's supposed to get annihilated when touching ordinary matter. I'm not into astrology, so that might a minus for me. Thank you for your honest review!

Thanks for your honest review. This book seems to have an interesting and refreshing plot, but I dislike being left in the dark with loose ends, and unnecessary characters will dilute the flow.

It is actually a date. It's written in Mayan long count calendar
