Penelope & Jack Together Apart by Uncle Inkwell & Professor Stork is a children's book about social interactions during the coronavirus pandemic. The author aims to give children some hope and joy through this book, which is why the tone in the text is informal and casual.

Jack is the main character in this novel. Jack lives in an apartment in a very tall skyscraper with his brother Pete, his sister Sarah, and his parents while his city is under lockdown. He is delighted when his mom returns from shopping for groceries, and he enjoys his lunch with mom's fresh groceries. Then, while his parents are working and his siblings are playing, Jack goes to the balcony to get some fresh air. There, he sees a paper airplane. What message does the paper airplane have? Who sent it?

I liked plenty of things in this children’s book. To begin with, I like the fact that the author is sending out a message of hope to children who may be feeling despair and grief during the coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, I enjoyed the simple storyline, which was original and authentic, providing a young reader some entertainment. This book was also professionally edited, meaning there were no syntax or grammatical errors in the story. What I liked most about this book was that it had many vivid and colorful illustrations, which can engage young kids by adding excitement and fun to the story. There was nothing I disliked in this book.

This book will be preferred by young children who like books related to the coronavirus pandemic. Parents may wish to read this book to their children to encourage them by offering them some happiness and comfort.

I decided to rate this book with 4 out of 4 stars. This is because it was professionally edited, original, engaging, and positive.

I think I just found the perfect book to read to my kids. The pandemic has really lessened their social interactions with friends, and I love the message of hope the author is providing. The bonus is that we LOVE making paper airplanes! Thanks for the helpful and delightful review.
