Colour-Coded Bookshelves
My shelving style is higgledy piggledy so I was impressed by the optical impact of colour coding spines.
I don’t know if finding a particular book would prove any more difficult than usual.
Have you tried it? Does it take the same amount of diligence to shelve by colour as it does for alphabetical order?
There’s many websites but I’ll post two links with the wow factor:

I think that's a fair comment, A24. One person said she only colour-coded her books for a photo shoot, so I have to ask the question "are her books for reading or are they for decoration?" You sound like you have an uncluttered system whereas I don't have one at all!A24 wrote:I think it looks pretty cool. I don't hang on to many of my books so I don't need a lot of shelves. I can't imagine having that kind of time to shelve them according to colors! If I had a lot of books, I would imagine alphabetical filing instead? It's not an issue for me, but how do most people categorize their books? You're right Maud, simply color-coding would probably make it difficult to find a certain book.
