We are Voulhire: The Fires of Virko is a charming story bringing to light the impact of capitalism and the ultimate misery inflicted upon the inhabitants of the kingdom of Voulhire due to rivalry triggered by power-hungry kings.

The city of Magnum Caelum is in dire need of iron for its growing industries. After the ultimate defeat of Lord Eldus by Lord Meldorath, Hillport could no longer supply iron to Galen's town. The mayor of Magnum Caelum sends the trio of Demetrius, Rowan and Gayen to the Lord of Virko seeking for help. The three men have to go through Lord Kayden already known to Demetrius in order to see the Lord of Virko. After approaching Vanden, the ailing Lord of Virko, their request is a granted. But, the Lord of Virko needs favour of his own from the three. He needs his house to be emancipated from the demon Sod that has haunted this mansion for quite a long time. Will they cleanse the house? Won't their actions provoke many demons paving way for a serious destruction to the kingdom of Voulhire?

The story is written in a perfect narrative style. In most cases, it is written in the first-person style. In some cases, the writer uses the third person. What makes the storyline impeccable is his clarity and use of powerful vocabulary. All these add weight to the writer's powerful imagination. Through his lens, one can understand and be fascinated by the capitalistic lifestyle of Virko. Personally, I developed interest with the fact that the inhabitants of Virko value industries more than anything. No doubt, this has contributed to the acquisition of vast riches by the nobles of the city.

The writer's style of giving us a map is awesome. I love to read a book illustrated by a good map as this one. By studying the map itself, you are guided as you go through the book. Moreover, one can easily see the distances between places the writer mentioned in his storyline, for example, the journey from Magnum Caelum to Virko. Honestly, this clears up confusion from your mind about many places the writer included in his storyline.

Interestingly, all the characters in the plot are well-developed. I have not come across a half-developed character. In addition, I also noticed that each character the writer featured in the story plays a pivotal role in making the storyline amazing. However, what I disliked about the plot was the writer's sudden shift from the present to the past episodes without hinting us. Generally, the book is awesome and deserves a 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this book to the lovers of well-written Sci-Fi /Fantasy novels.

The story seems to be nice mix of monarchy and capitalism and its impact on its inhabitants. Thanks for your nice review.
