I haven't read the book, but I really enjoyed the movie! I think I might just skip the book on this one based on your commentsjoriemae wrote:Maybe it's because of the fact that the book versions are more detailed than the movies. But there are also movies that are more interesting to watch than reading the book which it was based upon. Such is the case with the "Stardust" film, wherein I enjoyed its plot way more than of the book.

Also, "The Vampire Diaries" show was pretty great while the novels made me roll my eyes. I stopped watching the show and reading the novels about a couple seasons/books but the show was definitely better, I think.

the movie was way better than the book, but I could be biased because I don't like books in first person.
People who read are hiders. They hide who they are. People who hide don't always like who they are.

Well, it depends solely on your preferance!Ashamtly wrote: ↑16 Sep 2015, 01:40 Usually everybody talks about how the books are so much better than their tv or movie adaptations, so... I'm genuenly curious; have you ever found a case in which the opposite is true? Like.. a movie or tv show that was better than the original book.
For me "The Vampire Diaries", "Twilight", "Pretty Little Liars" and "The 100" are some of the cases where even if I don't particularly enjoy them, I found the movie and tv adaptations to be way better than the books.

I don't know what I think about the Hobbit since the movies are so different from the actual (children's) book and do seem to me a bit excessive in their action-scenes and CGI usage...
