I appreciated your review for it aided in balancing the few chapters I initially read. The book intrigues me and your validation of the quality of the writing inspires me to want to read it.

Indeed the Bible is practical to even mention pooling of risks as one of the principles of daily living. Too bad the book doesn't have any new revelatory ideas. I loved your review. Though I'd love a clarification on the issue of God not being dissapointed by Adam and Eve's disobedience. I know God is omniscient, and it does make sense that he wasn't surprised by the fall, but dissapointed? Clarity

If there’s anything I disliked about the book, it’s that Wilcox subscribes to the usual orthodox canard that Adam and Eve somehow spoiled God’s original plans for mankind, sending Him scrambling to a Plan B to rescue the world from its sin. She writes, “Had Adam and Eve not eaten the apple, then they would have lived happily forever after within the garden. That one act of sin condemned all mankind to a mortal death.” Nonsense. God knew what He was doing, and nothing that happened in the Garden of Eden surprised or disappointed Him.

You make an excellent point. I guess I had never thought about it that way, but if God is, as we suppose, all-knowing, he knew what Eve would do.
Thank you for making me reflect on this! And for the great review!

Sounds like an interesting book. It doesn't appeal to me personally but I hope others may find useful and practical advice within its pages. Thanks for the great review!

Indeed, the Bible is complete; it contains all we need pertaining to life and godliness. We just need to make a habit of studying it to access its boundless benefits.

Very thorough review, well done! I'm afraid it won't be to my liking to read this though. I'm gonna pass.

The title is very bold and i’m not sure that would resonate with everyone. It does sound like it has some interesting interpretations of the bible and states some great messages in the way in which we should live. I’m not sure this is one for me but it does sounds quite interesting. Thanks for a great review.

Thank you for your honest and detailed review. This sounds like a good book to help navigate and find those passages in the Bible that can help our everyday lives. Sometimes it's hard to find just the right passage to help. This book could be a practical guide.

This sounds like a good book to read if you need advice on any aspect of your life. You can find guidance without reading the entire Bible. I would caution though that the interpretations the author makes may be different from yours. Thank you for your review.

I like the way the author takes parts of the scriptures to use in modern day life.

I think this book makes an interesting argument for reading the Bible and could be a helpful way for both Christians and non-Christians to explore the Bible. I think this would be a great gift to someone you see struggling, as it has age-old practical wisdom.
