I find the Elizabeth era truly fascinating. The plot offers the perfect mix of adventure, history, and suspense. The origin of Kat's powers, her relationship with Thomas and Anstey's role make for an intriguing read. Thank you for such a compelling review.

I am not really a fan of science fiction, but that seems to only be a small part of this particular book. Elizabethan times interest me, as I don't know a lot about them other than the royal family in England (the Tudors). I will give this a chance to see if it captures my attention and has more elements other than space and the like. Thanks for the review; I now do want to read this as well as the following two. Kat is an awesome heroine, and Thomas is actually more like me, except for the special powers, of course (ah, if only).

I don’t think the themes in this book appeal to my particular interests, but anyone who enjoys a mix of alien and history and magic should find this a good read.

A science-fiction story set in the Elizabethan era. It is the first volume of the trilogy. The plot seems attractive in which workers plan to escape from the iron grip of Anstey, a powerful exploiter who comes from another planet and from a future time.

Every single time I see in description words "Genre: Sci-Fi/Fantasy" my interest lessens considerably. This is totally not my mix-genre, everything included in it is foreign to my nature and imagination. Therefore, I traditionally will have to skip this book, but am grad to offer my congratulations to the author!

This book is based on surviving a tyrant from another planet and finding a connection from someone like you.

I hate stories with aliens, so even though I usually enjoy books set in the Elizabethan era, I think I'm going to have to pass on this one. Thanks for an informative review.

Surviving Anstey" by Susan Hancock - The protagonists, Kat and Thomas, are well-developed characters. The script in the opening chapters seemed salacious to me. It's a good fiction based on a conglomerate of actual places in the West of England. Obviously, there has been lots of research to be able to be specific about tides, coastlines, and places. I liked your review very much. Thanks.
