What books do you think deserves to be made into a film?

The book Ariane by Claude Anet already got a classic film adaptation in Hollywood as Love in the Afternoon with the incomparable Audrey Hepburn and surprisingly wonderful Gary Cooper. It’s one of my favorite films of all time, and the ending is one I rewind and rewatch at least 3 times before I turn the film off. Love it. That being said, I would be interested in a remake simply to see how (well, rather *if*) they manage to pull off a story that even remotely resembles the scenarios which made the original stories and LITA such delights. There have been so many changes in modern normative culture regarding what is appropriate and inappropriate in the realm of sexual exploration that I think any real attempt at a remake would have to be an outright spoof film! (Which I would still totally watch, haha.)

My only hesitation would be whether or not the film could do the book justice. I would pick: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas.

"Black Magicians' Guild" trilogy and all related books, though I would have really high expectations ^^'

1984 has been made into a movie, not once but twice. It was originally made into a film in 1956, and the latest version which was made in 1984 starring John Hurt and Richard Burton. It received mixed reviews from the press.

Rarely does a filmmaker reproduce a book faithfully, capturing all its nuances and subtleties, to satisfy the reader. LOTR apparently came close but JRR Tolkien was not available for comment. I often hear of readers who will watch the movie but it’s uncommon for movie-goers to rush out afterwards and buy the book.

What you have said is absolutely correct. It is very rarely a movie live up to the expectation of a good book. One perfect example is "The Davinci code" where the book is really good but the movie failed to capture the essense of the book, despite starred by Tom Hanks as Dr Robert..

Looking for Alaska. I know that movies are shorter and do not have much time to put all the important events and although it was made into a TV series on Hulu, I feel like it wasn't good enough or enough to achieve what the readers of the book experienced.

Victoria Aveyard's Red Queen series would be an amazing film series and I hope it eventually makes it to the big screen.

Purple hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. I've read this book countless times just to satisfy the movie craving I'm having. But I would wait no matter how long it takes them to create the movie. I know it would be worth the wait.

Just finishing The Rats right now, I think it'd be cool to see a good film made based on it. Reminds me a lot of the video game A Plague Tale.
