Sold as a slave as a child, Lilly learns to play her masters piano and makes friends with his son... Not the usual slave story! Congratulations on BOTD!

I love it that Lily never allowed her background and her being sold into slavery to weigh down on her. This is an indication that for every dark cloud, there is a silver lining. Great book.

I could sense fear and despair in the words of this review for the young slave. I hope to read this book soon so I can see what she went through to gain her freedom again. Congrats on BOTD

Lily's story is heartwarming and intriguing. I am curious as to the outcome in her life. That being said, I hope the accent switching has been addressed. The story would make for an interesting read over the holidays. Thank you for a detailed review.

I am 15% into the book and I think it is a lovely story that is written beautifully! Lily is such a strong woman who endured so much heartbreak. I am very moved by her character. She and James had a wonderful childhood friendship. I hope that friendship is rekindled and it blossoms into a romance.

I have always loved historical romance novels. This book seems to have a very unique plot about a slave girl. I’ll definitely give it a try. Thanks for your review.

I love historical romances. This one has a different twist of romance between a slave girl and her master's son. Sounds interesting. Thank you for your review.

The #BOTD title sounded interesting and the description of how it was fun to like good guys and hate bad guys was a great positive. The talent for playing piano has me intrigued on who taught Lily. Captivating review!

This book sounds very interesting, especially Lily’s fine ability to play piano. I’m curious to learn what her “punishment” consists of.

The book seems interesting. It is also heartwarming and rather emotional with Lily's quest for her mother, her desire for freedom, her growing relationship with James. I think I will give the book a try. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!
