This sounds like an interesting story full of Korean history, I imagine you can learn a lot from this book. Embon’s character sounds great, coming from a background of privilege and becoming a fighter for freedom. Thanks for a great review.

"The Vanished" by Pejay Bradley - historical fiction that brings alive the culture and people of Korea. It begins with the point of view of the mother, a princess, of a beautiful baby boy. Thanks for the painstaking review.

I'm not a big reader of Asian history, so I won't be reading this book. However, the author's writing style is quite lovely and I expect she will find a welcoming audience for her story. Congratulations on BOTD!

Got exited when I saw that book's genre was my favorite historical fiction, but that quickly evaporated as I started reading description in review. Korea, Japan and Asia as a whole are not subjects I am all that interested. Unfortunately, I will have to pass this book, but congratulations on BOTD!

I love Asian Dramas alot, especially K dramas and this particular storyline reminds me of a Kdrama I watched called Mr Sunshine. I haven't read any historical fiction but I'm tempted to try this one out.

This book is based on the ancient Korean war against Japan that's full political views on how to break free without having to go through a war full of so much pain, suffering, and losses.

I love the socio-historical background of the novel and the changing narrative perspectives meant to better describe all aspects of Korean society under Japanese occupation. Thank you for a wonderful review!

Thanks for an intriguing review. I love historical novels and this one seems to capture the cultural reality of the Korean struggle at that time. I've added it to my bookshelf!

This book sure sounds like a very good way to know more about Asian history. Embon's mother depicts a wise character who understands the game of politics and humans. Insightful review.
