Jonathan McCalister had a perfect life. He was a quarterback in his high school football team, Katy Tigers, and led his team to win the championship. He got a full scholarship to Texas University. He had a loving and supportive family and a gorgeous girlfriend. But his life suddenly changed. Jonathan had a terrible car accident and had to live in a wheelchair forever. He blamed himself for causing the accident. He didn’t have any more hope nor dream for his future life. Years later, Jonathan’s mother hired Samantha Reid as his personal assistant. Although Jonathan was not easy to be friends with due to his wounds, he slowly began to open up to Samantha. Can Samantha help Jonathan to heal his wounds and forgive himself? Will they be together or go their separate ways?

2612 Cherryhill Lane by Glenn Vo is a romance novel written in the third-person perspective. The author writing style is easy to understand and made it enjoyable. This book showed us the importance of support from family and friends, forgiveness, how to live your life with positivity to yourself and your surroundings, and also what you can gain if you have a dream and never give up.

This book contained some verses from Bible but those are not invitations to embrace that religion. Those verses are about how to look at the positive in life and believing in God’s plan and how to forgive other people and ourselves. I think people of any religion, or even people without any religious beliefs, will enjoy this book.

I like the character of Jonathan and Samantha. Jonathan is an example to us that life is not always perfect. How our wrong action or choice can lead us to something that we might regret forever. Although his football career has ended, he didn’t dwell on the past and learn to forgive himself. Although Jonathan is a disability, Samantha is a person to see another person by their heart and not by their physical limitations. That is a good value in a person, as I think not every people can do that. In our lives, I believe there are many people who don’t want to be friends with a disability. They accept each other flaws and always support each other in any situation. Together they are living their lives with good purpose. They are kind-hearted people and they spread positivity to their surroundings. Their story is uplifting and inspiring to be a relationship goal.

The only complaint I have about this book is that the author didn’t focus at a character point of view in a chapter, or even in a paragraph. For example, in the beginning of the paragraph the author told us about Samantha’s feeling. Then still in the same paragraph, the author suddenly told us about Jonathan’s feeling. That is just a slight discomfort though and don’t hinder me to enjoy the book until the end.

Overall, I enjoyed the book immensely. I love the characters, the story, and the lessons we can take from it. I rate 2612 Cherryhill Lane, by Glenn Vo, with 4 out of 4 stars. There are no profanities nor sexual content other than some kissing scenes. This would be an excellent book for teenagers and adults. I also recommend this book to romance lovers and readers who enjoy book about faith and forgiveness.
