Do you think that writing instruments used in poems helps to understand the poem?

This is the place for readers of poetry. Discuss poetry and literary art. You can also discuss music here, including lyrics. Also, you can discuss poets themselves, in addition to poetry.

Do you think that writing instruments used in poems helps to understand the poem?

Post by Chizioboli »

Recently,i read a book of poems acted out in 4 stages. While reading the book, the author ensured to use different instrumentals in each stage, maybe in a bid to best pass across the message/idea of the poem. I better enjoyed the book as i could see each poem come to life as I imagined those instruments being played. Does anyone else have this same thought or feeling? Do you think these musicals help to best 'feel' poems as if you were the author?

yeah specially if you know the instruments that are used in poems and how they sound. It will feel much more better than a normal poem without passing some kind of music.
Because let's face it music brings life to books, poems and any type of writing.

It depends on what type of poem it is, sometimes it feels like the instruments are just unnecessary sounds that really don't belong in the poem. So it depends

Yes of course. Cause you recognize them and are like I get what they are trying to say and how they are trying to say it.
