A great story from a brilliant writer. This is a fast pace reading. The protagonist, Matthias Callaghan, as the third named Matthias Callaghan, inherited from his father not only his looks but also some of his attitude — carefree and inquisitive.
Reading is a journey to the world.

I am a lover of crime thrillers and having read your review made me quite interested in this novel. I have read the sample and is curious to find out more of what happens to Callaghan after gradually regaining his lost memories. Your review gave a good picture on what to expect from the series without really giving a lot of things away. I agree Ekemar is a good narrator. The switch between the narrations is done in a way that readers understand it easily.

I commend the author for the great work of art. It shows he has a very good command of language. And that made Matthia's story intriguing

Matthias's story is proof that sometimes revenge begets revenge. This is proven in how his revenge in Book 1 places him on the run in Book 2. This book series sounds enticing.

He loses his face and his fingerprints? That's someone who has no identity anymore. Very interesting premise.

This seems like an interesting story - the "new" face things kind of reminds me of the film, "Once Upon a Time in Mexico". Now that I read the sample and your review, I might check these books out!

Kim is indeed a great writer of series novel I would compare him with writers such as Matthew Tysz. Indeed this a great book with diverse themes in it. Thanks for the recommendation.

Though this book sounds brutal with the main character needing a new face and fingers, it still sounds interesting. I’m curious to see how the author switches from 1st person to 3rd person and still have a cohesive plot. Good thing the first two volumes are packaged together because they sound intriguing and may be difficult to put down.

This sounds like an intriguing story. Your review was very helpful. I like books that can stand alone when in a series but it isn’t a “dealbreaker”.

A crime thriller about personal identity loss and discovery as the main feature is daunting territory for me. While this novel appears to possess those features that suggest it may be an interesting read, I am having trouble getting past the torture and dismemberment aspects of this novel. I congratulate the author on the BOTD nomination but I think I'll pass on this one. Thanks for the great review!

This book is a mystery thriller with a mix of emotional and mentally damage with the already physical damage would make anyone lose their mind. I would not read this for personal reason do to it would gross me out fast.
