From the OBC review, the book sounds like an amazing read. I like it that the book is full of suspense, fast-paced, action-packed, and involves a few lessons for it's readers. However, I'm not a fan of pirate stories. Otherwise, congrats on the BOTD!

Pirates and strong female characters are a wonderful combination. Vivid descriptions of the Carribean must make one dream away. This book seems to have a lot to offer, I wonder what Brandy's choice will be.

Finally, there are a few lessons to learn in this book. Some of my favorites are that free men work harder when they earn something they can appreciate and enjoy, love is more powerful than hate, and the reality of fate is that it can be both kind and cruel.

These are really good lessons for all of us.

Thanks for the review. "I had to appreciate that pirates do not know how to speak or think using correct grammar. I continually had to stop myself from wanting to count errors that were not actual errors. When incorrect grammar was not in dialogue, I had to pay close attention to whom the thought processes belonged." This reminded me quite a bit of the Great American Novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. Written from the point of view of a poorly educated young man, it was written mainly in Huck's vernacular. Twain's ability to convey the manner of speaking attributed to the other characters, Jim, especially, is quite impressive. I think I'm getting off topic a bit, but what I am basically saying is this point, alone, intrigues me quite a bit, and it makes it easier to immerse oneself into the story and better understand the points of view of the characters.

Ships, pirates, and hidden identities; elements that are mysteriously compelling enough to make me want this book... it brings back come “pirate of the Caribbeans” vibe and I love it.
