Contrast human beings with the lives of any other conscious being, We are blessed to be human. The question of whether evolution or creationism is a matter of what you have faith in. Scientific deduction or scripture, one does not have to preclude the other. With an open mind one can believe in both, even if they are seemingly contradictory. You could see evolution as a story that God has laid out, or you can see faith in god as an idiom we've evolved into practicing. Supposing they're contradictory, There's a compelling case for evolution, but if we lived our lives so cut throat, every man trying to impregnate as many women as possible, killing anyone who challenges him. We might find ourselves in a reality that's not worth living. As celebrated as all the things life has given us, perhaps what it's taking away is necessity and reasons to live. Imagine faith in science in a chess game, faith has a funny way of checkmating science in unexpected places, that goes long overlooked. The further we go down towards scientific and technological advancement the more miserable and pathetic we all seem to be.

I am an advocate of Creationism. I believe in the Supreme Creator, God Almighty. What I am surprised at is that more than 40% of Americans do not believe in Creationism. It is difficult to explain other origins. I'm always interested in how others justify origination. Thanks for this thought-provoking article. The debate continues. This controversy about the origins of the earth and its inhabitants will outlast us.

I'll read this one but I also found a compelling argument made by Hugh Ross in A Matter of Days - search it up. You'll find it pretty easily on Amazon

In it he sets out the seven 'days' of the biblical creation and sets it against what we know from the scientific record with some surprising results.

I do not foresee this debate coming to an end, well until there is an end. I do believe that is you take the time to read and then lock at the scientific aspects, you will find evidence in the Bible that God is the Creator. Yes, humans have evolved, but that is stated. Knowledge is to evolve exponentially - it has and will continue.

This debate has been on for many years. I am in doubt that a testable approach that backs up creationism can be found.

Over the last few years, I have spent quite a bit of time researching this question. I find it quite interesting that mythologies all over the world all start with a creator of some kind. The idea of a universe that creates itself is relatively new. If the universe created itself, it would be constantly evolving toward perfection. Instead of this, we see entropy running rampant over the earth.
Life can only come from life. The computer keyboard beneath my fingers was designed by a master craftsman. So is everything in my home. No one would try to convince you that your computer or cell phone created itself. Creation points to a creator. To claim that a cell phone can appear out of nowhere, all on its own, seems equal to claiming the universe gathered itself together and the beauty outside my window sprang to life all on its own.

This is a debate that has gone on for a long time now between the Christian and science communities and I doubt that they can both come to an agreement about the origin of creation. However, I personally believe the Bible has the answers we seek and if we looked deeper, we'd see even more than the literal story told in Genesis.
Thanks for a thought provoking article. I'll love to hear more of your thoughts on this.

I am a devout Catholic that prior to COVID I attended Mass on a daily basis. When I look around at the many beautiful living creatures I truly believe that the creationist theory is the only theory that could have created this world. To think that everything is based on evolution is too hard to envision and people that think this way are going to be rudely awakened after death to find that they are destined for some place other than Heaven. To not believe in God will keep them out of Heaven although I do not believe they will go to Hell unless they deserve the eternal fires of Hell. I have read the Bible and while some of the timetable seems hard to determine I attribute these gaps and inconsistencies to be the result of hundreds of years of people passing on an oral history of the world and not a result of written journals. I strongly believe that Jesus came down from Heaven as a newborn child and grew up and lived his brief adult life in the Middle East. After giving His life to redeem us He went back to Heaven to rule alongside His father. I believe that my parents will be at the gates of Heaven to greet me and my sisters upon our deaths and we will spend eternity in Heaven worshiping God.

Many people have tried to explain our existence based on a scientific approach and they have fallen short of their goal because they cannot explain how a big bang could have started the human race, animals, plants, weather, etc.

This is quite an interesting debate. It's also very deep meaning it has alot of concerns and there are no right or wrong answers. Reason being, everyone has their own beliefs, for example, survey showed 40% of the population believes in creationism, 33% and 22% beliefs otherwise...but the main questions...why and how was earth formed?? As stated by one of our previous readers...if "scientist" states they have the answers in the holy scriptures, then they are on the right track to finding the right answers...
I do look forward to reading more on this debate.

As a Christian, I do lean more towards the Creationism idea. However, there are some details in it that are left to the imagination. Honestly, a form of evolution had to have occurred (at least in my opinion). How did all of these cat and dog species come to be? Dogs are descendants of wolves and cats are descendants of lions and other larger cats. It is such a hot topic to discuss sometimes. Thanks for the insight though! :)

A very interesting article on a debate that has been and will continue to probe the minds of human beings. I totally believe in creationism theory which relies heavily on the Bible because the scientific theory has gaps which upto today have never been fully answered. I await for more articles, very interesting perspective.

I'm intrigued by the run-through of this article. Time and Time again, science would go against the creationist in proving that their beliefs to human and world existence is wrong. A little bit of it might be because the science believers work hard, and tirelessly to fault the belief of the creationists. I think that if they're willing to use the Bible as a guide, they might be doing so in the hope of finding something more to dispute. After all, "seek and ye shall find." Perhaps if they researched these texts with more of an open mind towards uncovering the mysteries they contain, they might end up with different results. Thank you for the lovely read.
