This is the story of Shang Ik Moon, a man who grew up in North and South Korea. After losing his family, he is befriended by a preacher who turns his life around. Congratulations to the author for writing this important story chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

It sounds as though the main character led a sad and challenging life. I can see why you would wish this was a fictional account and not based on true events. I'm glad he was able to overcome his background. Thanks for a great review!

Young Moon found his way through a heartbreaking journey and into a richer life as a Christian through determination and the intervention of the Chaplain. I'm not into memoirs or religion-based books, but I admire the author for sharing his story. Thanks for the wonderful review!

'Official Review: The bulletproof missionary' by Keriz Rosado is a thorough exposition on the life of a well-respected and honored missionary from North Korea! The character of the missionary Shang Ik Moon is well sketched out in the review! The point that the book is based on Moon's religious journey is worth mentioning in the review! Also, the point that the events that unfolded in Moon's life are arranged in chronological order in the book is quite informative for readers! Nice to learn that the biography is a meritorious work of the author!

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting memoir about a man who was raised by his grandmother in North Korea and then moved to South Korea where he learned about Christianity. However, as the Korean War progressed, he journeyed to America while retaining his Christian lessons and teachings. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This sounds like a heart-felt enlightening memoir. Despite such trying times and the deaths of his loved ones, I'm glad he was able to experience such a profound spiritual religious journey. Great review!

Keriz Rosado's biography of Shang Ik Moon narrates an inspirational story of a missionary and more importantly what led Shang to embrace Christianity.

Congratulations on the BOTD! Sounds like an inspiring read. I am not a big fan of biographies, autobiographies or books close to religion, but it looks like this one is interesting and very articulate. I hope the author inspires more people who have faced similar hardships of growing up during a War to find new life. Great review!

This story sounds very inspiring. Mr. Moon suffered many trials, but I love that he found God through the man who helped him.

What a way to choose a Christianity. It really inspires me to live a life that spurs others to seek the God I serve. Moon's life is heartbreaking to imagine and I am glad it got better. Quite an emotional story. Thank you for an engaging review.

Thank you for the wonderful review. This sounds like a very good book with a lot of heart. Just from the sample, I know how much he wanted to be reunited with his father. I'm also interested in his journey into Christianity. I have added it to my list of books to read.

I can imagine the challenges of living through a time of war; Moon went through all that and didn't let it put him down. His story is inspiring. What an interesting review.

It sounds like an intriguing book, but it is really not my style. I may come back to it at a later date. Moon sounds like he overcame his hardships growing up to serve in his own way. Great review.

Sounds great! Not a Christian myself but I imagine it could be read as a nice primer on the history of the Korean peninsula. Downloaded!

Moon sounds fascinating, but the character I want to know more about is Chaplain Vajda. He sounds like an inspiring and stimulating individual. Thank you for your review, and congratulations on Book of the Day!
