The novel is a historical fiction that showcases different aspects of that era.
Reading plain facts may be boring at times but the author portrays interesting picture of familial drama and various events, which makes the book an intriguing read.
The review is great.
Congratulations on Botd 🎉

I have read several of the books in "The Lord Hani Mystery" series and have not been disappointed by any of them. Thank you for your review.

I am keeping the following sentence "making me feel unexpectedly comfortable in an unfamiliar setting". It seems really interesting to read a book written with a different viewpoint. I really enjoyed your review and you grabbed my attention in reading the book.

A historical fiction set in Egypt with all the details mentioned in the book is something I would love to read. I have always been fascinated with the Egyptian culture and the lords and gods that ruled there. Reading about history on its own without a head or a tail is sometimes boring like you said. But when it gets connected to a story it becomes all the more interesting. A perfect review!

"Bird in a Snare" by N.L. Holmes - N.L. Holme's love for historic fiction is clearly revealed in "Bird in a Snare". He writes with authenticity. I loved the indices at the beginning of the book. Listings of //Hani's family, Egyptians, Gods, place names, etc. The characters are developed early in their appearance and are relatable. Very astute review, thanks.

This historical fiction novel is about Egypt during the rule of Akhenaten, who changed the religious belief of many gods to the worship of only one god. The story is interesting because the characters speak using the current day vernacular. Congratulations to the author for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

I have no prior learning about Egyptian culture, but the book sounds interesting. I like how the author is able to draw a connection between Egyptian history and peoples' actions today. The language may be a deterrent for some readers. Thanks for the informative review.

Egyptian history and culture is one of the most intriguing amongst world's ancient civilizations.
This book would be quite a treat for history buffs. And the fact that this book is written in a very informal language is an added advantage.
Thanks for this wonderful review :tiphat:

This is an interesting political fiction novel highlighting Egyptian culture and drawing comparisons to the modern-day lives of people. The book has a free sample on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review. Congrats on the BOTD selection.

This book sounds absolutely wonderful for lovers of historical fiction and ancient Egypt! I love that the author uses simple, common speech instead of difficult words to make readers pull out their dictionaries.

It's fascinating that the author made the conscious choice to write the narrative in the vernacular, although I think it would have been interesting to learn more about formal speaking in Ancient Egypt (if such information is even available), given that this is a great opportunity to educate readers on such. Thanks for the review.
