A cleverly narrated plot
A historical fiction about ancient Egypt in the middle of a religious and political upheavel. What a time for such a crisis? Brilliant. Congrats to the author for making #BOTD.

:ugeek2: This sounds like an exciting historical tale, full of action and intrigue! It takes a skilled author indeed to make the reader comfortable in such an unfamiliar setting as ancient Egypt. Thanks for the great review!

Bird in a Snare ~ is a Historical Fictional Book which reveals of Egyptian ancient culture, and of fascinating times. It tells further of lifelong friendships were betrayed, livelihoods were lost, and lives were in grave danger at the whim of the new king.

Beautifully well-written. Comforting. World building. This book will appeal to readers with an appetite for Historical Fiction.

~ Thanks to the Author

I love that the author uses a simple language in this book. Because that's one of the things that scare me in historical fiction. Thanks for a detailed review.

This sounds like an interesting read. Although the simple language can make the story approachable for readers, I understand the conflict of reading modern vernacular in a historical setting. Thank you for your thorough review!

It is a pleasure to read historial fiction, but even better is when the language is not pompous, but familiar, close to the reader's own idiolect. I found Egyptian history very interesting, and compelling, so for me this book is definitely a must read. Great review!

This book is set in so far back a time - this I like. The setting and storyline are quite unique and sound interesting. I would like to check the sample out. Congratulations to the BOTD, and thank you for this impressive review.

This is a well-written review of what appears to be a superbly written book. I'm not a fan of historical fiction involving ancient Egypt, but from the sections of the book that I read, Mr. Holmes has a wonderful ability to take the reader back to that time period. Congratulations to the author on earning BOTD!

I have always been fascinated by Ancient Egypt but think I may have to give this a miss. Kinda the opposite to you who felt more comfortable because of it, I find that language inappropriate to the time distracting in anything set in the past and it pulls me out of the story. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Unfortunately, I am not a fan of either historical fiction or mysteries, so despite the author's excellent writing style and stunning descriptions of Egypt, I'll be skipping this one. Thanks for the amazing review!

I think that historical fiction novels that make connections to our current reality are very interesting. This one in particular, is about Egyptian history and culture. Even though it seems to contain some inconsistencies, it sounds great. Congrats on BOTD for the author! Thanks for the review!

:tiphat: What a way to tell these stories are fictional, will these birds be somehow rescued? Not very setting on how these Egyptians treat animals. Congratulations on the BOTD!

This is a beautifully written review. Although the story isn’t something I would typically gravitate to, your review of it has me intrigued. I appreciate your honesty and thorough account of the book.
