Divorce is difficult to deal with regardless of age. This children's to YA book sounds like an excellent one to read to help address all those mixed emotions. Great review!

It's not suitable for any child to witness and undergo such situations when there will be less attention and care. Thanks for your review.

So many kids these days struggle with the decision of their parents to get a divorce, so I think this Lea's story will resonate with a large audience. And, in general, help kids overcome the obstacles that life inevitably brings.
Thank you for your excellent review.

SandPeople is a beautifully written coming of age novel. The reader meets the protagonist, Lea who is just about to be let out of school for summer vacation. Her feeling of happiness however is soon destroyed when she learns that her parents are separating. As a result, the reader sees that Lea begins to question everything and everyone around her and she also rebels.

I especially like the descriptive elements in this story. The author depicts each scene very clearly. Anyone who enjoys reading novels with a lot of literary devices will certainly enjoy this one.

One can only wonder whether Lea will in fact finally accept her parents separation and continue to live her life happily.

Thanks for the review. Lea's situation with the separation and being caught between childhood and adulthood makes this book easy for the target audience to relate to, especially girls. Perhaps adults will enjoy it if they've gone through something similar. It could appeal to or help children whose parents are getting a divorce, or maybe even those parents.

It's easy to see young readers devouring this book. Many will relate to the family difficulties and the many activities Lea enjoyed. I loved your description of Lea's bouncing from childhood to adult emotions. Great writing! This looks captivating and well written.

Although there are elements in the plot enough to attract my curiosity still the content is suitable for young children.

Like Lea, many persons are apprehensive about change. This is a beautiful coming-of-age story that can help others with similar challenges. Your review was well-written. It lent credibility to the story.

This book has some historical features and having to stay somewhere else because pf your parents will help you become someone so much better than your parents to show that you have what they lack, love.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting coming-of-age story about a young girl, Lea, who, due to family issues, is forced to spend summer at her aunt's house in Texas. Will Lea have an experience that she would not otherwise have? It looks to be worth a second look. Well done.

This looks to be a wonderful book for children that are going through a parental divorce or are just going through a tough time. Lea is certainly an interesting character so far, especially with her rebellious nature. Congrats to the author on BOTD! :)

A story of family, friendship, and coping with new life. I like the character of Lea. She was being positive despite the unexpected family matters.
