The story seem to address sensitive subjects that has become viral in the society. Several police institutions have been found guilty of corruption. But what is it that influence this negative attribute? On the other hand, why do criminals resolve to illegal activities? I would like to find answers to these questions. Additionally, the story seems to be intense and dark. I will check the book. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

I appreciate the author’s “tactful exploration of pertinent themes.” This sounds like a book worth reading, a fascinating crime thriller. Fantastic review!

First impression is that the book is not so catchy from the first page, but as I progressed it became very interesting. Quite a good piece.

In the wake of protests against police brutality, this is a timely book. The author narrates the story of disgruntled police officers and victims of a broken policing system.

This book shows that cop could be good or bad, there is no need tagging all of them with bad view. This book will really be good for people who like crime and thriller.

The aspects you mention are essential. We can't possibly see something as complex as the relationship of the police with certain individuals as straightforward. And I applaud that the author didn't create clear-cut heroes and villains, because even criminals have their stories and motives, and not all cops are good guys, but they also have to deal with an intricate system of power and corruption.
I love how well written and insightful all of your reviews are! Thank you!

I’m not big on crime novels so I’ll have to pass on this one, but I hope fans of the genre give the book a shot.

I wasn’t sure about this one, but after reading your review I will add it to my bookshelf. From your review it sounds like the story is not just told by the police, but also the accused. Do you think there are potential answers, to the issues now, concerning BLM and others?

Love how it manages to address relevant issues in today's world and does not sugarcoat anything.
