When the author finds an old suitcase holding his late aunt and uncle’s love letters, what do you presume he will do next with it? Thomas Schwendler, in this non-fiction book comprising of 4 chapters and titled Love in a Suitcase, dished out the marriage advice he got from reading the letters. This book explores themes of love, dating, and others.

While cleaning due to idleness from the 2020 lockdown, Thomas Schwendler discovered a suitcase containing letters exchanged by his late aunt, Anne, and uncle, Bill, during their courtship. He found, in the letters, the best marriage advice ever. From the best communication practices to navigating the relationship, how to go about conversations that couples usually engaged in, love, and the importance of God in a marriage. The book contained different teachings from “couples living in the analog times that could be helpful advice in today’s world.” Are things not going well in your relationship? Do you have issues with your marriage? Read this book to acquire helpful advice.

I commend the author for writing this book, as it would go a long way in saving many marriages. Thomas Schwendler did great in exposing the letters as they educated and created awareness of the changes between analog and digital times and the effect of these changes on people’s love lives. The book further taught ways that these worlds could be intertwined to make a successful long-term relationship.

Furthermore, each chapter’s structuring and further division into small parts explaining a particular issue and related pictures were perfect. It made the book easy to read and comprehend. The book raised many delicate questions about whether a long-distance relationship could work and essential topics such as the fact that relationships have never been easy. Reading this book will encourage you and show you how to give your best in a relationship.

The book is well written and exceptionally edited, as I encountered no error in it. Also, the writing style of the author made my reading process very smooth and enjoyable. There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this book, as it is educative and interesting.

Therefore, I rate the book 4 out of 4 stars. This book’s sole purpose was to use knowledge from analog ancestors to give counseling tips to couples. This purpose was met and exceeded. I would recommend this book to newly wedded couples. It could also be a perfect gift for the recently engaged and those still building up their relationship.
