This is the story of a young boy that is trying to figure out what happened to his twin sister, the finding of a totally new and fantastic world while discovering himself and dealing with the new experiences and information that he gets about him and his family, plus the ones living in this place where he ends up, called Echoland. In a way, it can be about growing up and relationships, with it's intricated nuances.

I enjoyed listening to The Chrystilleries of Echoland and it was common to want to continue, specially in the last chapters since they had plot twists and would add interesting information, like when they are discovering how to solve their current situation or learning about new characters. I appreciated the attention that Dew Pellucid put into the details in the book and the way they were structured. This is similar to when someone is telling us a story or a legend, with an expressive and easy to follow voice, new and unexpected details are given to the listener in a captivating tone.

Sometimes I had to come back in the audio to make sure I got it all or made sense of a character and it's name, which in some situations I guess it's normal for an audiobook or even a small stop when reading the book. I noticed only one small incongruence in the entire audio book, at the end.

Most people could enjoy this story, regardless of age, gender or culture, even though it can be too "simple" for some tastes. That said, older children or teenagers would be the main audience since the style is similar to the collections of Harry Potter or from Eragon, not too graphic and without any kind of inappropriate references but also exciting enough for them, as Lord of the Rings or Star Wars would be to an older audience. This fantastic world is well done, making us feel emotional occasionally but not changing much of our disposition (i.e we will not laugh or cry for hours, at least as adults).

Great book for light reading, while travelling or for an engaging and relaxing time. The plot is well done, original and with unexpected turns of events. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars, due to the details and how they catch the readers attention, the quality of the story and the level of originality of this world and ideas.
