Wow, this story really sounds sad, it's impressive that Victoria's situation didn't depress her to breaking point; she never gave up. Good review, great book.

The great author Shakespeare again inspire me from his writing. I totally interested to read all 286 pages about world war ll . During the war all prisioner very hurted by German's. Victoria and etta both are surviving like prisioner because etta was also facing difficuties due to his disability which is very disappointed me.
It's positive part is victory after the lots of problems , she was lived with her strength .which give us a thought "never give up " .

I like the realism and the human side of the story, which the author very faithfully portrayed.

I am shocked when thinking about the treatment they would have faced only because of their nationality. It sounds like a story so true and depicting the times of the Nazis. Thank you for a great review!

It’s fascinating to hear the often untold stories of the many victims of WWII and Nazism. I’m not sure I can stomach the many atrocities done to these Polish women, but this book is a great representation of historical facts.

You are correct in mentioning that knowing about our past, however painful it might have been, is important. It helps us understand conflicts better and find a solution for them. This book will be a useful guide in gaining that necessary perspective. And Victoria is a fantastic character who inspires us to do what's right no matter what the circumstances.

Sounds intense and emotional. I'm not a fan of historical fiction, but I'm sure many other readers will appreciate this book.

I liked the cover, so bought the book without reading the description. My bad, because it turned out to be a story relayed to WWII - subject I try to avoid as much as it is humanly possible. No offense, but I didn't finish it year ago and skip it now. Anyway, congrats with BOTD!

I've only just read a little of it and I'm already shocked. I’ve read volumes of WWII history, but it never ceases to appal me how inhuman the Nazis were. From this review I can tell that I'm in for more shocks.

Filled with descriptive scenes and well-developed characters, today's BOTD is a historical fiction novel that tells the story of of two women and how their lives were affected during WWII. The novel focuses on friendship, survival, and courage, while giving a voice to those who were victims of the slave labor operation. Thank you for your review; it was excellent!

I'm not a fan of most novels, but this captivating historical novel delivers in persuasive detail the terrifying stages of World War II history through the eyes of a young woman who thrived bravely to survive. Following the author's paternal family, she offers a humane story of how women survive the forcing conditions of war. Historical fiction lovers and students of World War II need to read this. :D

Being born and raised in Poland, I'm very curious to read the book and see the author's perspective on what really happened. Thanks for the review!
