It sounds like a great book, and I think that all couples can benefit from a lesson in communication. Marriage is not easy, is a relationship that has to be worked on constantly. If you achieve a stable marriage it can be the blessing your kids need to grow strong and confident.

This is an interesting non-fiction educational book highlighting a physicians guide to evalasting love and success in marriage. The book has a free sample on Amazon Kindle and has a well-written OnlineBookClub review. Congrats @askdrjeep on the BOTD selection.

“The main reason people get married is the same reason it is important to do every good thing in life; to avoid being to into yourself - being you centered instead of we centered”. This quote spoke to me, being a newlywed I love my husband and I would do anything to make him happy and I know he feels the same way. We both agreed while dating to focus our relationship on us instead of just us separately. Marriage and even dating is becoming two and thinking of your spouse. Whether you’re a newlywed or been married for 10 years, it’s nice to get marriage advice. I enjoy books with questions so when I saw this I was excited to share this with my husband.

I don't typically enjoy self-help type books, but it sounds like this one does have some solid advice. I was a bit surprised that the book was written by a physician, let alone one that has only been married for twenty years. Thanks for a great review.

Sorry, but I don't believe that there is some miraculous recipe for happy marriage. Peoples are all different, situations and circumstances as well, so every marriage is unique and individual at least in my opinion. Unfortunately, I will have to skip this book. Congrats with BOTD anyway!

"Don’t fight to win, fight to understand". I think this is one of the best advices one can give to a married couple . A book full of insights to not only marriage couples but also to those who are aspiring to marry. Your review is very detailed and insightful. :tiphat:

I’m not married so this book isn’t for me, but I’m glad couples have a good resource to help them be as successful as possible!

Books that give marriage advice seem to be very useful. I'm not interested in the subject, but congrats!

I think this book will be a great guide to all the couples out there.Somebody should be there to give advices while going through serious issues in between a couple, most of the times lack of communication leads to severe problems.
Even though I'm not married and dont know much about that I've seen married friends of mine going through problems with their partner, I will definitely suggest this book to them.
Congratulations on BOTD

These precious tips cannot be missed, especially for those who want to have successful relationships that will last for a long time and for those who want to be a good life partner.
And because we are tired of all these relationships, there must be something to make the wounds of the past heal,
and the right person may compensate us for everything we have experienced throughout our last hateful relationships. :)

This book is certainly not for me as I've had my experience with marriage and am currently single. However, for those in need of marital coaching, I hope they find this book helpful.

This sounds like a useful tool for heterosexual couples, but I wish that the author represented all people in a committed relationship. I believe that they have many of the same issues, but it would be far more inclusive to include non-heterosexual couples. I like that there are questions at the end of each chapter that prompt readers to reflect with their partners. Thanks for the detailed review.

This sounds like a book that is sorely needed these days, particularly since @AntonelaMaria notes that it calls the reader to communicate with their S.O. (very important both before and after marriage) and address possible high-conflict issues. I look for books that I can maybe read with my husband, so I like that it's not an independent book.

Thank you for your great review. I thoroughly enjoyed the sample on words. I think sometimes people don't think others are listening, but they may be listening much more than they think they are. Since I'm not in a relationship now, nor foresee me being in one, I will pass on this book. But I do think it's a great one to get couples off to the right start, or back to it.

An Amazing review giving a microcosm of what to expect in such a timely book on the Marriage institution. It elicits the problems and practical solutions In Marriages. Definitely reading it before I get married, like they said "prevention is better than cure".
