Cyber-thrillers are not usually what I would read but the sample did indeed get me engrossed, I like the reviewer hadn’t read the previous books but didn’t feel that was detrimental to my enjoyment ( although if when I’ve downloaded & finished the rest I’ve enjoyed it as much as the rest I shall read them & play catch up)
I liked Gold’s character instantly the way he tried to keep himself grounded. His suspicion of the job was I assume correct, it sounded dodgy to me.
Can’t wait to read the rest

Gold initially feels hesitant to accept the job offer and his reluctance is only amplified once he meets the firm members in person. Despite being described as too trusting, he still feels an element of unease hanging over him as he uncovers more information about the ransomware attack. This gut-feeling of unease only amplifies as the story progresses. One gets the sense that a framing and a cover-up are underway as more of the characters begin acting suspiciously when more information is uncovered.
This sample makes me wish I had read the first three installments of the series. It starts out with intrigue and is fast moving. Is this legal firm legit or are they willing to commit crimes to resolve the ransomware attack. I would like to read the entire book and then go back and read the first three. Good official review.
