The sample was indeed very intriguing! I like to know more about countries outside mine, so I will pick this informative novel. Based on the cover, I initially thought this is a nonfiction book.
Congratulations on the BOTD.

I've head of travel writers but haven't read of any. This book would provide insights into this aspect of writing and all it entails. I'm sure it would be a great read. Thanks for an amazing review.

I am not interested in Central American history, so I will likely pass. I had a hard time following along with the story in the sample; I was left very confused. This was a great review though! :)

I can only imagine that a group of 9 writers would have quite the fascinating conversations. However, this topic really doesn't interest me, though I am sure the book is quite educational. Thanks for a great review.

Oh oh.... What should have been a fun trip and work in Central America turn into something else. How would the writers cope if they don't understand the language? Thanks for this amazing review and congrats BOTD!

Thanks for the review! The topics and themes aren't exactly in my ballpark but I love the concept of an ensemble group of travel writers, it seems like a really fresh and interesting way to deliver complex themes from a range of angles

A group of travel writers were sent to Central America in 1993. The book provides a wealth of knowledge about history and culture of that area, which sounds fascinating. Congrats on BOTD!

I can't imagine myself in a foreign territory with no translator to let me in on what the locals are saying. It's unsettling the feeling of being aloof and consequently, exposed and vulnerable to all sorts of situations.

This is a different kind of a book where you get the feeling that this is more of a documentary type book rather than a novel. This is purely because the plot of the novel seems to experiences sharing by the authorthrough the characters of various type writers.Your review was very thorough.
