I can't wait to pick up this second in the Ruslan Shandiza series. The post-Soviet world sounds politically charged indeed!!

I'm not a fan completely, but I do like such books. Maybe people who are fans of such books will like to read them. Thank you for your review.

i also don't like it when the author includes so many characters in the story and you can't keep up with the story without trying to recall who the character is or without skimming over the pages or chapters you've read. Please excuse my ignorance, are the mentioned tribes actually real ones or fictional?

I don't normally read this genre, but your review has piqued my interest. I like a book that pulls you in from the very beginning. It's more interesting that way.

Thanks for the great review. I too related to the part about multiple tribe/ethnic based parties vying to out do each other. At one point author refers to the cabinet as 'a collection of enemies.' How aptly it describes what's going on in my country now.

Political thriller endures me. The tension and suspense fill me up. It seems the plotline is loaded with such elements. And I agree that Russian names can be a bit difficult to keep up with, but though I am looking forward to it. Thanks for your thorough review. :tiphat:

Reading the first chapter made me think I had entered the world of civil war with all its gore and, as the title say, chaos. Its suspense can be felt and the way the author introduced us to the characters is fascinating. This is not a book I usually read but to say that this book is mostly for male audience is perhaps premature because who knows what romance can be found on later chapters.

This book intrigues me! I love the concept that Ruslan is the one who stands in the middle of a decision that can impact the place he lives. I cannot wait to read this book and find out what happens.
