Every person is wounded in one way or the other. If this book helps you to discover yourself again, make your life better, then it's definitely worth reading although I don't think the biblical quotes are appropriate for all readers. Congratulations on BOTD!!

I've taken a break from books that touch on heavy topics, but I think this one can give so much perspective and good advices to those who read it. Congrats on BOTD!

There are so many women like Sandra who suffer physical and mental abuse. But not everyone has the courage to stand up for themselves. This review is very inspiring. I’d definitely like to read this book!

I was worried that it was another life story but I was relieved that it also comes from the perspective of a psychotherapist. I think I relate with some of their experiences so I think this would be worthwhile.

I applaud the author for talking about her struggles and using them to help others in similar situations—in situations that they might find hopeless period. I’m never too big on books like these with a big religious component, but if helping out with her church has had a positive effect on the author, then it only makes sense that she talks about religion here as well. I might have to give this a read. Thank you for the helpful review.

I must commend the author for sharing her pathetic story and journey of recovery to encourage others. Thanks for an insightful review.

It's inspiring that after the amount of abuse and trauma Sandra Cooper went through, she still had the presence of mind to make it as a psychotherapist.

I am not fond of personal accounts with self-help lessons in life. But I am sure a lot would find the book useful and inspiring. I think the reflections and personal thoughts of the author would be very moving just as the review indicated. Because it is personal, it would be very credible. After all, it takes a lot for someone to write their personal experience and show the right actions. Just as the review says, it probably would have been better if it is not tilted toward religion. At any rate, others may find deeper strength from the inclusion of religion just as the author did. I believe it would be worth taking a look especially for those looking for guidance and inspiration.

Thank you for your honesty in your review. I had enjoyed some pages before coming here to check out your review. Your review is so detailed and thorough. I just can’t enjoy a book with more than a few profanities in it. It’s sad too, I was so enjoying the pages that I read. Oh well.
You did a super job. Thank you
