I think the author has mentioned an important fact through this sentence. I am not quite sure about sex since the experience and the perception can vary from person to person (I am not sure whether Zia felt like sex was non-refundable, though she really felt like that about time), but it is true regarding time.

I think many of the victims of the psychopathic killer proved that sex is non-refundable, and they had to pay with their lives proving that time too was non-refundable as well.

Do you agree with this statement, fully or partially? Why? How did the author relate this to his story?

And isn't it the same with sex. once you realize that the person you are investing your emotions is not worthy, you would just wish that you never had met that person and never had any relation with him/her? either physically or emotionally. It was the same for Zia when she thought that she invested herself in the wrong person, so yes I think sex and time both are nonrefundable.

I loved this quote in the book. It seemed to capture the whole story. For the young girls who were killed, time and sex were obviously non refundable. But it was the same way for Zia - the time and sex were also non-refundable, that experience would always with her - it can't be undone, but she and Bryce decided to overcome that obstacle through forgiveness and building a more trusting relationship.

I definitely think that sex and time are non-refundable. Zia fell for Bax and ended up giving herself to him, even though she was fully ready to spend the rest of her life with Bryce. She spent all of that time with Bax that she will never be able to take back, and she will never be able to take back what she gave to him. The same can be said for the real world too. Many times, we as humans think that we know and love a person, only to find out that they were not who they say they were. Even though a person cannot get a refund on sex and time, they can move forward by making better choices when put into life-changing situations.

Indeed, sex and time are non-refundable because Zia along with the other ladies who fell for the psychopath's intentions could not undo the pain. What's done is done and sadly, lives were taken away to pay such price.

I agree partially that time is nonrefundable because it's a known fact that time cannot rewind itself that is a time lost cannot be regained. Truly the death of the psychopath's victims proves time cannot be regained. That moment they realized they were going to die, if given the opportunity they would have liked to turn back time.

I think the same victims prove that sex is non-refundable as well. The killer used to sexually attract them (at times it was lust and other times it was attraction towards opposite sex), and then they were killed. So definitely ttheir time was ended, proving that sex also can make your life short, making it too non-refundable.

sex on the other hand time to engage in and equally equates to giving a piece of ones self to another and it can’t be taken back once given.

I would agree in totality here that time I not refundable. It is a general feeling everywhere. We also saw the victims regrettably realize this when it is too late. Then, I would agree partially with you that sex once given is also not refundable. How did the author relate these to the story? The pitiful death of the young girls proves much and sadly I believe Zia must have felt that way too.

Sex isn't a currency in my perspective, so I don't agree with it being nonrefundable. But I do get where she's coming from, I understand how she felt that time.

Time, however, is the greatest currency humans take for granted. So yes, it is a premium nonrefundable currency.

I agree that sex and time are both non-refundable. After sexual intercourse, one cannot return the pleasure gotten and cannot turn back the hands of time. time lost cannot be regained. In the story, the killer lures girls to sex and kills them, if time was refundable, they would turn back the hands of time and save themselves from death. I agree that sex and time are non refundable. When Zia realized who Bax truly is, she felt disgusted with herself and knew she couldn't undo her actions or rewind the hands of clock. I'm glad she made things up with Bryce rather than beating herself up for her mistakes.

Yes, exactly. And it was not just Zia alone. The victims of the killer too had to face that reality. They were just cheated and they chose to invest their emotions in this unknown (just happened to know) fellow. And see what ultimately happened to them.

I fully agree with the author that time is non-refundable because there is an adage that says 'you can't eat your cake and have it back. Once time is spent it cannot be gotten back.

While that of sex, I partially agree with the author on that because once sex has been given I believe it can be reproduced the same way as before.

Yes that's rite at times when you meet a person you will feel like love is lifting you off the earth, but when you find out what's in that persons heart it will never be the same. Zia is not just for the sex but she's searching for a passionate person but he wasn't real after all. It's like giving away a present .

Bryce truly loved her, though Zia could not remain faithful to him. As you correctly said, though Bryce chose to forgive Zia, what she did cannot be undone, and its effect and memory will remain throughout her lifetime. And the next book of the series will show whether that has anymore affect on their lives or not.
