When I started The Bloody Book I did not expect it to be so authentic and down to earth. Our story begins with Max, a young 13-year-old boy who has had a difficult childhood. He has gone through many hardships in his life and has had to overcome each differently. As life has gotten harder and harder for him, he has gone numb to his own emotions and dreams. School is unimportant to him. He has no interest in pursuing his dreams because he knows, coming from his background, he just can't. No matter how much he would love it, accomplishing his goals or at least leading a normal life is something he can't have. At least that's what he thinks. Max eventually begins to realize why he started to not care for school when a teacher with unconventional methods shows up. Though I was not literally in this class, I learned things from it.

Life isn't easy or fair. I can't sprinkle this with sweet little words. Life is tuff, everyone has a different story. A lot of people go through struggles, as we see them through day-to-day life, we don't even realize it. Chris Bowen shows us the real story of what children go through, at school and home.

I would recommend this book to teens and Young Adults. Although if you have problems with cursing you might feel slightly uncomfortable. If you are also uncomfortable with drugs, murder, and abuse, please consider not reading. Despite those factors, I think this book is very eye-opening. It addresses things we as people often avoid. And let's be real, that is exactly what we need to stop evading, being real.

On the positive side of things, I have a lot to say about this book. Sadly enough I can't disclose all the secrets of this book. On the negative side of things, I would say there isn't one. Everything about this book was great. I enjoyed it very much.

I will very happily be rating The Bloody Book 4 out of 4 stars. Despite a couple of mistakes here and there, I enjoyed reading it so much. It had me smiling, gasping, and crying. My emotions were all over the place, but one feeling was consistent, my love and adoration for this book. For a lot of people, there are always books we might go back to and read again and again. I know for certain I'll be coming back to read this book.
