Review of Diary of a Snoopy Cat
Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is a children’s book with illustrations by Jorje Valle. The main character in this book is Inca, a witty cat of Siberian origin. He lives with his three kitty siblings and his humanoid mother. He is an active, spontaneous, and inquisitive cat with a desire to be the best cat detective in the world, and he feels London is the best place for him to make his mark.
An opportunity arose for Inca to prove himself and create a name for himself when his friend Monk recruited him to help find one of their other friend’s partner who went missing without a trace. As a determined and driven detective, he accepted the challenge. In their search, they encountered challenges they had not expected. I encourage readers to read this book to find out what these challenges were.
The story is narrated by Inca and through his lens. This perspective not only offers the reader an opportunity to see things as they unfold, but it also allows the reader to get into Inca’s mind.
I liked how the narrator maintained the exciting pace from the beginning to the end. The font types and sizes on the PDF version of the book I read were different and added a tantalizing element.
There was nothing I disliked about the book. It was impeccably edited as I did not come across any typographical or grammatical errors. The storyline was executed well, and the supporting characters played meaningful roles in the story.
Overall, I award the book a rating of four out of four stars as I enjoyed reading about Inca’s antics and all his adventures.
The book is ideal for children as it contains lively illustrations that are aesthetically pleasing, and Inca’s character will appeal to the inquisitive minds and adventurous spirits of young readers.
