It must hurt to learn the truth when it's a bit late. Kimi had all the right to feel betrayed.

A thought-provoking review! The identity crisis in one's own home sounds exciting. Flashbacks, mysteries, and a series of events, this book contains all. It must be a good read! Congratulations BOTD

It doesn't sound like a book I'd enjoy. I don't like reading drama so I'll not find it interesting. Thanks for your review!

I completely agree with the statement that family secrets can greatly influence the formation of an individual. Positive influences have a stimulating effect and deception leads to insecurity and low self-esteem.

This book has a unique kind of family drama which I've never read before. Thanks for the detailed review! It has certainly piqued my interest in this book.

I agree with your rating of this book because the correct use of pronouns and other grammatical tools can make a book flow well. If these are not used well, then readers can become lost in the book or become confused as to the plot line. I have heard many instances of genetic genealogy revealing to children that their father was not their father which has led to long journeys of self-discovery similar to the author's.

Descendant Deception is an autobiography about how family secrets can make or break an individual's life. I am not really a fan of autobiographies, but this book is really attention seeking. A book full of emotions, and the review intriguing.
Congrats on BOTD.

Family ties can prove to be either a boon or bane for people depending upon the circumstances. This book seems to be an interesting take on familial complexities and I am sure it would be an engaging read.

I enjoy reading autobiographies. I admire the author for being able to create a suspenseful non-fiction book. I'm sure writing about her upbringing was difficult and I give her credit for doing so. I enjoyed reading your review, you did a great job.

Wow I really give kudos to the author for sharing her life and story. I'm sure finding out your father isn't your biological father later in life and dealing with the insecurities and lack of love from your grandmother would take a huge toll on finding one's place in the world. Great review!

I'm not a big fan of memoirs, so I'll be skipping this one. And from the review, there seems to be some awkwardness in the writing style that I would find distracting. Still, others may enjoy this book as a meaningful autobiographical work. To that end, I wish the author good fortune in finding an appreciative reading audience.

It’s sounds interesting and informative, as it’s a delicate topic that many of us may live. I also appreciate how the author worked on themes like betrayal and self-discovery, among others.

I thought this was a fictional book. But, I don't read autobiographies. I think I must skip reading this book because it contains disturbing themes like betrayal, deception and self-doubt. Great review, by the way.

The sample pages had me intrigued about the author's story. I agree with you that one just wants to keep on reading to find out how her story ends! I appreciated your comments about how you related to the author's experience. Thanks for sharing. I am anxious to read to the end of this one.
