It seems like the author has written a unique take on her own personal history – by writing her autobiography in the suspense-thriller genre. I agree with you about the slight confusion – it would be a lot better if she introduced characters properly (this usually happens because one is overly familiar with the content, so it's difficult to get into the mindset of looking at content from the perspective of someone who is totally unfamiliar). Betrayal from your own family lives on with you forever. The trauma can lead to so many issues later on in life and I can definitely relate to that as well. I think it's incredibly brave of Jackson to pen down her experiences as it can be eye opening for many people.
