This book makes me remember Stephen King's Carrie. Her powers were destructive. I can't imagine what a bunch of them will be able to do. Whoa, I'm scaring myself!

Interesting! An outstanding review you have shared. The question what other option does Rion have than trusting the "Fragile bonds" he had made with the strangers he just met.
I want to believe that the rapid change of scenes and the selfish decision making, if i may put it that way was to ensure that the rest of the cast does not steal Rion's limelight, its ok to build trust on the main character and make everything revolve around him.

I look forward to reading this novel since I can identify with a socially awkward protagonist. It would be interesting to explore his kinetic abilities along with him. Overall, this seems like an enjoyable young adult novel that readers will love. Congrats on the BOTD selection!

Just as you have said, I also feel that other characters could have been given more time on screen. Your review, clearly shows that the book revolves around Rion and cares less about other characters involved.

I love how this book goes far from the norms. I already love Rion's character. I can already relate to him already. Plus, I just love books that keeps me on suspense, and this one here is just it.

Fantastic review! It's enlightening and well-analyzed without giving away the plot. I like that the author put a refreshing spin on an all too familiar trope with a black teenager as the protagonist and a diverse cast. Too bad about the supporting cast not getting adequate “screen time.” I can imagine how the plot could have benefited if they had been allowed to flourish.

It sounds like a very nice fiction but the mistakes are not quite pleasant. Thanks for your review!

This plot definitely doesn't sound unique. Besides it's a shame that the characters other than the protagonist aren't well developed. It seems like this book is not my cup of tea.

I'm rather fond of coming-of-age stories with a sci- fi twist, and this one sounds like a good fit. I like that the author gave a fresh perspective with the character diversity in the novel. I'm curious to see how Ryan manages when he meets others like himself. Thanks for the insightful review!

I'm really interested to know more about Rion, his uniqueness, family roots, and abilities. The book's cover is equally striking and adds to the intrigue. Congratulations on the BOTD.
