Before I read this book I went through the description and it had me really eager to see what this book had to offer. I remember the first words that came out of my mouth after reading the first page of this book to be "Wow, this is going to be an adventure" and it indeed turned out to be an adventure.

Of Zots and Xoodles by Zarqnon the Embarrassed is a great read. This book narrates the creation of the universe and what happened before the creation in its own unique way.

Just as the author initially pointed out in the "Meet the Author and some of his random thoughts…" section of this book, the author does indeed set his imagination free in this book.

Now let's talk about almighty Theodil who is the main character and in this case the creator and mastermind behind the universes. He created the "dot-like Zots" and "noodle-like Xoodles" which are the building blocks of the universe. He did this in the presence of a committee of people that did not exist in a "time before time" and a "realm of realms where realms are born and realms come to die".

Theodil joined and twisted, stretched and compressed, created and broke down zots and xoodles to create everything in the universe; from energy to matter and the results which are the natural forces. All things from matter to light to antimatter were all created by Theodil in this room full of spectators who were sometimes tumultuous, other times calm, and other times nonexistent. To be fair, xoodles were made from zots, which means everything was essentially made from zots.

I noted above that I considered this book an adventure and I really do. This book has a way of turning minds, it can easily confuse the average reader. I had to go back to read certain phrases a couple of times to fully understand what the author was saying. Once I started reading this book I was buried in it. The terms mentioned are very abstract. I understand that a lot of readers might find this book annoying or too complicated but I really loved the book. This book challenged me to think about the creation of the universe.

Some other things I loved about Of Zots and Xoodles are some phrases and questions the main character asks. It prompts you to think, challenges your beliefs, and makes you consider more closely how all this came to be. The author does not even bother to answer these questions, he just leaves it open like a lingering fragrance in the air, making people draw their own conclusions by themselves. I also loved the illustration, it adds the right aura to the book.

Although I really appreciated this book, I feel like a lot of readers might not like it so much, some might find it too complicated or confusing. This is the one issue I noticed with this book.

I love intellectual books and astronomy and this book did make me think. This book has won my complete support and I rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend this book to people with open minds who are willing to challenge their beliefs. I also recommend this book to people with a flair for complex and complicated things.

I should mention though that this book is fictional so readers should not take what the author says to heart.
