Tales Of The Seventies by David Done is consisting of short stories. All of which are a blue print of that era. In it the author takes you back to a time where freedom of experimental and expressionational lifestyles and choices blossomed and revelled without constraints. Each story reveals a different world and the reader relive it through the characters that are portrayed in it. The book is certainly an intriguing read and very surreal as the characters come to life . A bundle in which hardships are portrayed but also the victories. Therefore you will continue reading it wanting to see how the next story will unfold and end, wondering will it be better then the first one. The author showed impeccable skill in each story in making it believable and keeping the readers attention through out the book. In which each story starts with a different setting and atmosphere .

The positive thing about the short stories therein is that it shows that in life whatever you want in your life whether it be change or to add more value to your existence starts with you and nobody else .These short stories are very liberating and different and although it's fictional it is certainly a great read and very entertaining. It shows you that it does not matter where you are from everyone may be struggling with their own problems. In it the reader will realize that in life there are many pitfalls sometimes it can be avoided and sometimes it can not but how you handle the situation solely lies with one self. It also shows cases at how easy it was for people to accept and to reach out to each other without fear of being judged or rejected. It also shows how vulnerable people can become because of the onslaught of lifes tribulations and in the end each find a way to deal with it. People lived life based on their terms and were not as pressured by societal influence as it is nowadays, people did not place limitations on themselves because of fear of what people might think of them. They embraced life and all of its facades because they understood that life was to be lived regardless of what they faced , simply because it was more lucrative.

Some of these stories are a bit too sad and have too much of a negative vibe to it. It may not be a good thing for people who is already feeling depressed or whom does not see solutions to their problems. The same name of the main character is also used in most of these stories , which are read back to back. The scenes of some of these stories may not also sit well with some woman and they might find offensive and may be upsetting for some whom may also differ in opinion.

I give it a four out of four because it is well written, the author captured a different time of our lives and it is superbly narrated in every short story. These stories brings forth a hippie feeling , hinting at a promise of adventure and of excitement. It high lights how societal changes took place over the years, in the manner in which we lived and what we deemed worth exploring, whether it be good or bad people were more open in taking chances . It brings forth the hip and happening lifestyles of the characters sometimes unorthodox but certainly fiction at its best as you get lost in the stories while you envision each character in each story whom all have surprising endings.

This book will be great for fiction lovers and people who love to read, since it covers a broad spectrum of topics and therefore is very enjoyable. Some might even identify with some of the characters which were portrayed, even though their struggles might be different they will revel as the stories continues. If fantasy and fiction and entering a different world is your thing then this is the book to take you on that journey of boldness whilst reliving those daring times or discovering it for the first time. Also If different is what you want then this is a book that belongs on your bookshelf and needs to become part of your collection. It is a must read if you want to add that out of the ordinary book with that extra oomph to your shelves and place a smile on your face. This is the book you recommended to next person knowing they will be surprised once they read the book . In addition you will get another fiction lover hooked or get someone to read a book which in return you might be a book lover or friend richer .
