Detective Mike Hegan's life almost came crashing down when he lost his fiancee in an accident. While trying to protect his sister, he also suffered a severe injury that almost left him paralysed. After being released from the hospital, his friend Clay takes him to Arlington park race to cheer him up.

The body of Ariel Sutherland a race horse trainor, was found on Wilmette beach. It was discoverd that she died on the same day as Italian Scallion, the horse which she usually trains. Suddenly, her death is ruled out as suicide but detective Mike Hegan thinks she was mudered. If she was, who is the murderer and why was she murdered? A woman to blame by Vincent Panettiere will have you guessing the whole way through.

Once I read the description of this book, I knew that this was it for me. Panettiere has done a good job with the smooth flow of the story which makes the book quick and easy to read. The story was entertaining and engaging all the way through.

I liked how the characters were well potrayed.I was able to feel their emotions as if they were my own. My favorite charater was Portia Sutherland. She went through so much at the hands of her father and still she was able to fight for herself and courageously seeks justice for her sister. She always trys to defend the rights of women against men who still look down on them. I even felt her rage and courage as she trys to fight for what is right.

I could not put down the book as it was very captivating and kept me guessing as to what would happen next. The book also deals with family and sexual abuse problems, as what portia and her sister went through is very sad. I did not find any negative aspects of the book as it just kept me on the edge of my seat as the story developed. The story was also adventurous, which I greatly enjoyed.

This book was exceptionally well edited as I did not find any typos or errors. Overall, I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it's highly captivating and I really enjoyed it from the begining to the end.I highly recommend this book to adults who enjoy reading mystery books as it contains some mild sexual content.
