After reading the sample, I also noticed that the character development seemed to be lacking. I wonder how this would affect other readers' reading experiences as well. Thanks for the honest review. :)

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting mystery/thriller novel following Hailey, an interviewer, who witnesses a murder while on a hike. Given the nature of the interviewee, Hailey suspects that the interviewee might be involved in the murder. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Was Burke really responsible for the murder?,did Hailey made the wrong decision going externship away from home? So many questions unanswered, I believe this enjoyable novel will answer all this questions. It's a must read for me. Otherwise congrats on BOTD

Although I love thrillers, this is not a book I am likely to read, judging from the review. I am very much into character development and have a distaste for plots which are spearheaded by unpolished characters. But as BOTD, there must be some alluring sides to it waiting to be discovered by the right reader.

In all, congratulations to the author. Thanks for the review 👍

A nice treat for the admirers of crime thrillers and mystery enthusiasts in the book "Broken Inn" by A.W. Baldwin, which focuses on Carol and Hailey, who try to secure a job opportunity in Utah beside Canyons. I love such books.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.

Nice character development in western style crime thriller novel. The author might put much efforts to write those plots. The old investigation system and the mystery behind the murderer cases led the story from beginning to end. Love this review because I just sampling the book and now I know the full by reading this

How awful for Hailey to witness a murder! I can see how this would be a page-turner. Thanks for your clarification about the character development in the story. Great review!

I was intrigued when you said what you loved most in this book was it' fast-paced nature. As a reader, I would love the story to take it's time to it's climax. Baldwin could have invested in the development of his characters. Of course we want to connect with the characters and relate to them

I liked this review. It was on point and you could feel the suspense building from the beginning of the book. The style of writing draws you in at each chapter then the author builds the context. I love the fact that it makes me want to read more. This book is definitely a good read.

I agree that although the book is action-oriented; it lacked character development. I need to be engaged with a character right from beginning in order to complete a book. Relic lives an interesting lifestyle, it’s a shame the author did not provide sufficient detail to capture my interest to keep going. You have given a fair review.
