As the title suggests Rediscovering the wisdom of human nature: how civilizations destroy happiness , the book is all about getting back to our natural self, the way nature created us. There is something phenomenal about being true to our natural self, which is living in the moment and experiencing unconditional love. However, what unconditional love is, how it differs from today’s world and how civilization makes you forget your true self by showing you future promises and beliefs is something you got to know in this book. Throughout the book, author Mr. Chet Shupe gives strong arguments and encourages readers to listen to their soul messages and live in the moment.
Reading the book rediscovering the wisdom of human nature: how civilizations destroy happiness by Chet Shupe was a great experience. The book discusses the life of our ancestors 6000 years ago and how they used to live in small groups and harmony with nature. The author put a question mark on the civilizations and all the rules imposed by them like marriage, law, and many other. When you start reading, you start questioning a lot of things around, and words by the author feel like they are coming from some deep feelings, experiences, and ideology. This book is the summary of the author's experiences from his illness and recovery, his thesis on evolution, and how we are similar to every other animate being on this planet. While reading the things the author was saying stays with me. However, the lack of scientific research, the stark difference between what the author says and today’s reality keeps you on the edge of believing it or not. All in all, this book will surely ignite some burning questions about your life, the way you are living it, and you might end up with greater insight into human emotions, feelings, and how our emotions make us real humans.
While reading the book, I judge many things happening around me and how humans are ready to kill each other. I also feel what the author was saying is true about our current life and the things going on around the world. However, the book does not provide any answer about it, and the author insists you search within you to get the answer. As the author hopes for change in the world, I also hope that people read the book and start behaving more like humans and less like machines. Take your time and read the book slowly, this way, you will be able to grasp what the author is trying to tell you.
While reading, I did not observe grammatical mistakes, which led me to believe that the book is professionally edited. It offers you a smooth reading experience. The book deserves
3 stars out of 4
because it really points out some harsh reality of our world today and how we are so disconnected from life.
