Review of The Elf Coup - Book Three of the Magi Charter
What happens when Santa goes missing? The elf coup, book three of the Magic Cater series by Jordan David gave full details on that.
The elves' world turned into mayhem. Santa Claus got arrested during their honeymoon by the FBI, his wife went into a coma and was admitted to the central hospital. The rescue team sent to retrieve them was also arrested and placed in juvenile.
The elves awaited the arrival of Krampus, a creature who threatened to find Santa in the previous book of the series. The older elves relocated into the factory, the department heads were unrest, except for one. Noel Night.
Noel Night is the youngest departmental head, responsible for finding the lost library. His discovery made him an enemy of a former departmental head of finance called Mistletoe. Mistletoe has always been a sucker for power. He believed Santa does not have the capability of ruling the elf's world, therefore, deciding that he, Mistletoe is the best man for the job. Mistletoe embarks on his plan to become an elf Czar. He gathered supporters from other elves with the same thought and recruited the help of polar bears who held grudges with the old Santa.
Noel Night was also receiving rigorous training from an old elf. He trained on how to use runes. Runes were the ancient source of power in the ancient days, and it was also in possession of Mistletoe. Noel was selected to defeat Mistletoe. Noel, therefore, had to master the use of runes in a short period.
The filtering of light means the nearness of Krampus. When the creature arrived, elves had to move in groups because any elf caught walking alone was captured by Krampus. Production in the factory halted due to the unstable light, and portals stopped working.
Mistletoe saw this as the best situation to achieve his goal. With the fear of Krampus, Santa missing, the polar bears arrived then Mistletoe became the elf Czar. Anyone who dared to challenge him was locked up or punished. Where was Noel?
Noel went on a rescue mission to rescue Santa. With the help of some friends, Santa and the other elves were saved and returned safely to their world. However, on getting there, they were all arrested and locked up. Noel was summoned by Mistletoe with the most absurd request ever. He fought very hard with the Czar and was able to conquer.
We all thought the elf world would be back to normal. However, lots of changes had occurred. The older elves were restless in anticipation of incoming doom.
The Elf Coup is an intriguing piece of work. The author, Jordan David, possesses remarkable skills in character and scene description. My favorite part of the book was the description of Noel undergoing his training.
The good thing about the book is that it is full of drama, action, thriller, and suspense. Readers can picture the whole scene of the book in their mind due to the author's satisfactory analysis. It leaves the reader to keep turning pages until they forget their dinner. Also, the series does not get boring as it progresses. It, however, gets more captivating. I do not find anything to dislike about the book as it interests me till the very end.
I rate this book a 3 out of 4 stars. The book appeared to had been amended professionally. I recommend this book to young adults, children, and older ones that need a bedtime story on Christmas night.
In conclusion, I am pleased to say that The Elf Coup is magical.
