Review of Jesus, Prosperity Gospel and Poverty in Africa
Jesus, Prosperity Gospel And Poverty In Africa is a book written by author Elijah Oladimeji to thank God for helping him in his recovery from Covid 19. In the book, the author have discuss the hardships in Africa. The people of Africa are living in very miserable conditions. They even lack necessities for survival like food and water. Several stories have been used to elaborate the role of Churches in helping people of Africa in day to day life. Stories show how some people don't have space to sleep, some don't have money for hospital bills, some don't have money to educated their children, some don't have good relations with partners, and so on. Church Pastors are being a big support to the people of Africa while facing their financial problems. The author is successful in revealing the true Power of Faith through these stories and Bible.
A large number of people in Africa has converted into Christians. Similarities like Africans believe in supernatural, traditional religions, beliefs in the spirit world, thanksgiving, and a lot more, with the Bible, have been discussed in a very remarkable way, along with both world disparities. Misuse of church money, the transformation of author brother life, the difference between new and old testaments, gospel practise importance and many other important aspects of Churches have also been discussed.
I liked the use of the Bible by the author throughout the book to give a clear perspective of what God asks of us. Like the use of the Bible in a story to show a person the right way, who has thrown his wife and children out of the house. Church pastors having a hard life, yet still believing and retaining strong faith in God is inspirational. I was also really moved by the journey of Livingstone, whose body was buried in England and heart in Africa.
Beautiful directions like sin separate man from God, donating all except what is rigorously necessary, forgetting God when Life is easy, are life-changing. I would give it 4 out of 4. This book is a masterpiece that possesses the strength to help eliminate poverty from his world. I appreciate the author effect to make people understand, how their little contribution can improve everyone life.
I would suggest this book to people who have difficulty finding faith in God. This book is also recommended to people who want to make the world a more beautiful place with their charity and faith. Throughout the book, I find only a handful of errors. There was a story in which the author mother-in-law need surgery. He didn't possess the money needed for surgery. I disliked the fact that the author did give its ending.
