Review of Tales from the Gray Area
[Following is a volunteer review of "Tales from the Gray Area" by Curtis Stephen Burdick.]
Tales from a Gray Area by Curtis Stephen Burdick is a riveting science fiction book. It was motivated by the famous American television series known as The Twilight Zone. This book is a combination of seven fascinating novellas: Reincarnated, Bottom Dwellers, Vacation from Hell, Discoveries at River View, Sorceress, Alien Addiction and Sanctuary.
The first story is about a 108 babies born on the same day with a mysterious symbol and are targeted by a villain corporation. The second one talks about the mystifying and lethal creatures living deep down in the sea until someone brings them up. The third short story takes you through a rebellion in hell by angels that reside there asking for a vacation and take over human bodies to live their lives. The fourth narrative deals with the unearthing of a skeleton that belongs to a dinosaur. Fifthly, a woman with a gift that has a detrimental impact on her life. The next tale is about an alien ruler working towards detoxification from drug addiction on earth. The final one is about a human that came into contact with an alien god. My favorite among these is the third one, Vacation from Hell. I liked it the most because the characterization there was so exhilarating and the flow of the story was wonderful.
These stories cover some of the popular themes like extraterrestrial life forms, science, magic and native cultures. Curtis does an amazing job blending fiction, fantasy, science and reality. His attention to detail and great storytelling skills gives the reader a clear mental image of the narrations. This visualization connected me to the characters, scenes and the author’s writing in general. The plots of the stories were intriguing; I was often left in suspense or looking forward to reading the next tale. I was always left yearning for more.
The novellas were very well executed because not only did they cover the all basic elements a story, but were brief enough to be read in a short period of time. The book was professionally edited heightening my reading experience. However, the book contains some degree of sexual content and profanity therefore it might be unsuitable for younger audiences.
Consequently, I rate Tales from a Gray Area by Curtis Stephen Burdick 4 out of 4 stars. I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy mystery, suspense, horror and science fiction. Reading this book would take you on a mind-blowing adventure. Anyone who finds interest binge-reading would love this book.

All the stories were unique and interesting. But my favorite would be Discoveries at River View. It has some unexpected twists that I loved. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
